So we were given the opportunity to review the Dino Treasure Hunt adventure pack this week. You purchase on the website and then are sent an email with a login and link to download the information needed. You get instructions and all the cards and information to print, or you can contact the company to get it printed and posted to you – I like this option as even though the cost is a little higher it makes the quality better than I could print at home.
We started the treasure hunt by watching the first clue video, this is great if you are unsure of hosting a party and just want to leave it all to someone or something (app video) else. So we watched the video and then the kids ran to find the first clue, they loved hunting around the garden and finding the dinosaur bones. Each little package has a few bones inside so each child can collect one or they work in teams, once all bones have been collected they can arrange them on a table and complete the picture of a dinosaur.
There are several video clues to get the kids involved and to giver them ideas and little tasks to do, they watch a video after they have found each pile of bones. The videos last a few minutes so the treasure hunt will take around 60 minutes depending on the space you have available. It doesn’t seem to matter what order to find the bones in because there is no specific clue to the location if that makes sense, the clue is generic on the video so it wouldn’t be personalised to your treasure hunt which is good as then it doesn’t matter if they find the clues out of order.
The girls loved the idea of finding something to make a complete picture and once the treasure hunt was completed the kids can get a certificate for finishing it. The certificate layout and everything is included in the download pack. I like the fact everything has been thought of to create a great treasure hunt. They do have more themes coming soon so look out for those on their website.
