UK Recommended Attractions for Families

We love going out as a family and visiting all over. These are the places we recommend with kids and why. They are all in the UK and surrounding places. I also asked some other parents for some help in selecting places and this is what we recommend to visit.

One of the places we would love to recommend is Drayton Manor, I would also recommend going in October when it is quieter and you get on the rides much quicker. They have a huge choice of rides for all ages, different styles of rides, the staff are helpful and they have offers on usually of 4 for £80 tickets which is well worth it.

Karen from Reallymissingsleep   recommends Kidzania in

She says “For me Kidzania ranks very highly, children get to try out lots of different jobs. Mine loved it so realistic the set ups are, all the equipment there and a very memorable, fun and educational experience. ” This is based in London

“Paultons Park is ranked as the UK’s number 1 theme park and it’s no surprise why. There is something for all the family from toddlers in Peppa Pig World and thrill seekers in Lost Kingdom area of the park.”  Says Angela from

Emma says “BeWILDerwood is absolutely amazing – it’s a magical woodland setting with so many outdoor activities. We love the books which tell the story of Swampy and his friends – the kids get to dress up and act them out when they are there in the outdoor theatre. ”  This lovely place is in Norfolk. Anna recommends Longleat Safari Park. She says “If you love animals, then this is the place to go! It was the perfect day out for all the family and a big hit with our pre-schoolers. One thing I liked was that small people were able to see the animals without having to be constantly lifted up over enclosures. The boat ride around the lake was such fun and a real favourite. The girls found feeding the sea lions hilarious! There were plenty of animals to see on foot including monkeys, birds, penguins. The play areas were fantastic and had a separate area for younger children. We decided to go on Safari about 3ish. This worked really well for us and I was intrigued as to what the girls would think of going on Safari as we plan to go to Kenya next year. They loved it but I have to say I was nervous running the monkey gauntlet – The car came away unharmed this time but we probably broke a few speed limits!! Riding with the lions and tigers was very special and you really were up close driving through their enclosure. They were not behind bars!! We made some lovely memories at Longleat and would highly recommend this as a family day out. Longleat is in Wiltshire. Anna writes at

Catherine recommends “Roarr Dinosaur Adventure Park in Norfolk is amazing if you have a little dino . It’s also home to some particularly fun high ropes and a great place to spend a family day out. It’s got a little bit of everything. ”  Check out her website at

Erica from The incidental parents recommends “The Sea Life Centre (in London but there are a few about the country)
There is so much to see and do, interactive parts and suitable for all ages (the grandparents loved it too!). The best part for me is learning about the environment and how it needs protecting.”

Nadia recommends The Cutty Sark in Greenwich. This ship is a fantastic mix of history and interactive games. On the first Saturday of every month there is also an opportunity to join in with arts and crafts. There is a great cafe and plenty of space for children to run around both outdoors and indoors. You can find more of Nadias recommendations at

I hope you have enjoyed this round up of posts about attractions for kids in the UK. We also have some posts about spending time as a family on our  North Wales Holiday post and also information on our Italy Holiday review.

  1. This is a great post and I love how you’ve included other bloggers ideas as well. One of my favourite places to visit as a child was Legoland Windsor. Who am I kidding, I still enjoy it now. 😅
